November 19 to December 3 2026, at three locations across Thailand including Bangkok, Sakhon Nakhon, and Chiang Mai. This intimate 14-day textile retreat for only six participants offers an authentic journey into sustainable natural dyeing far from tourist routes. Elisabeth, who has travelled extensively in South East Asia to study natural dyes, guides participants through interactions with contemporary Thai artists, dyers, markets, and dye gardens all dedicated to textile art. The retreat includes four days working in Mann Craft garden creating a natural colour palette from plants, visits to local markets including the community Bamboo market in Chiang Mai, and seven full workshop days exploring the real colours and fibres of Thailand. Travel is conducted like a local using local transport, eating local food, and engaging directly with today's Thai natural fibre and colour artists who share their knowledge and resources generously. Leader Bio
Elisabeth is a Decorative Arts graduate from Christie's who moved from stencilling to eco techniques in 2015. She grows a dye garden at Glasgow Botanical Garden, travels to study natural dyes, and writes regular articles for Applied Art Scotland, the Weavers Guild, and the Quilting Guild.
