From 4 to 11 May 2027, at Château de Saint-Germain-des-Prés in the northern Dordogne, Toronto painter Alanna Peters leads a structured week of classical oil painting for artists with foundations already in place. Days move through grisaille, glazing and alla prima, with morning demonstrations and afternoon studio practice; a plein air session takes the easel into the Dordogne landscape, and a market day in the local village builds in a proper introduction to Périgord cooking. Meals are prepared by Le Cordon Bleu-trained chefs and served at the château, with house wines from the cave and seven nights' accommodation in the 16th-century building. The group is capped at eight. Materials beyond canvases and easels are not supplied: guests bring their own paints, brushes and tools or have them shipped ahead.

Alanna Peters is a Toronto-based oil painter whose work is held in private collections across Canada, the United States and Europe, with two decades of teaching across classrooms, galleries and art schools. Her instruction covers grisaille underpainting, glazing and alla prima, taught in English or French.
