From 31 January to 7 February 2027, on remote Flinders Island in Bass Strait between Victoria and Tasmania, Art Travel Adventures runs a seven-night small-group painting retreat at Mountain Seas Lodge, a wilderness property at the foot of Mount Strzelecki. Days move flexibly between the lodge and the island's most striking painting locations, from the white sands and red-lichen granite of Trousers Point Beach thirty minutes' walk from the door, to inland streams, forested trails and the coastline further afield. Weather steers the schedule. Rooms have private bathrooms; a private chef prepares breakfast, packed lunches for the field, and dinner at half past six each evening. A sauna sits on the deck for evenings, and wallabies, wombats and over two hundred bird species share the property. Guests fly in and out of Essendon Airport in Melbourne. All meals and transport on the island are included.

Leader Bio

Kerri Ainsworth is a set designer, installation artist and Master of Design (UNSW, Public Art Installation and Sustainable Practice) who founded Art Travel Adventures to design creative travel for artists after two decades in film, television and public art production design. She hosts small-group painting retreats across remote Australia (Flinders Island, Lord Howe Island, the Kimberley, Central Australia) and internationally in Portugal, Greece and Mexico.
