June 11 to June 14 2026, at the Bellissima Art Studio in Port Orchard, Washington. Join papermaker and sculptor Jacqueline Mallegni for an immersive four-day workshop exploring the art of handcrafted paper tailored for sculptural applications. Participants will create textured paper using flax roving through a contemporary fusing technique that departs from traditional methods, designing and applying stunning paper onto organically shaped, reusable moulds crafted from wire mesh and plaster cloth. This innovative papermaking approach opens the door to endless creative possibilities, allowing for various inclusions, mark-making and stitching techniques. The workshop includes opportunities to harvest fibres from the local environment, enhancing creations with unique textures and distinctive qualities. Surface embellishment with sumi ink, indigo dye, thread and paper applications will add depth and interest to finished pieces.
