From 24 to 29 September 2026, at Court House Farm in Portishead near Bristol, collage artist and illustrator Jacqui Mair leads a five-night retreat on paper collage and artist books, taking still life as a jumping-off point rather than a destination. Six days in the light-filled Cow Shed studio move through her working process: printing your own collage papers with gelli plates, monoprinting and relief techniques; building compositions with colour, texture and mark-making; incorporating vintage ephemera and found imagery; and constructing simple artist books to house the finished works. Talks on art history run alongside the studio programme, and optional morning stretching opens the day. Meals are prepared by the retreat chef and taken with the group at the historic Manor House. Accommodation is in ensuite rooms in the Manor or the adjoining Court Lodge. A non-residential six-day pass is available for locals within fifteen miles. Pricing shown is an approximate USD equivalent converted from GBP. Please confirm the final price, currency, and options for single or double occupancy with the host directly before booking.
