From 18 to 23 April 2027, at the Connecticut River Valley Inn in Glastonbury, Connecticut, national award-winning artist Bryan Jernigan leads five days of studio work on impressionistic pastel painting. Each day pairs a demonstration from Bryan with individual studio practice, moving between pastel landscapes (from bucolic countryside to sandy beaches) and still life arrangements. Coverage includes paper choice, value, composition and colour, along with practical guidance on skies, water, trees and flowers, and framing and presentation notes. The workshop suits beginners taking up pastel for the first time as much as experienced pastelists after fresh direction. The Inn-Stay package covers accommodation, welcome and farewell dinners, and breakfast and lunch each workshop day, with independent dinners at restaurants within walking distance of the Inn. Day Student places are also available for guests booking their own accommodation locally. Pastel supplies are guest-provided; a materials list is sent ahead.
