From 14 to 18 October 2026, at Santa Fe Artist Getaway in New Mexico, abstract expressionist painter Beverly Todd leads a four-and-a-half-day studio-based workshop for artists at intermediate and mastery levels who want time and structure to develop their own visual language. Mornings begin with warm-up exercises to move the group into working mode; afternoons are given over to independent studio time, with acrylic and water-soluble mediums on large unstretched canvas across the painting walls of Studio Raven, or on stretched canvas at the easels. The workshop centres on three habits Bev calls visual vocabulary, playful unlearning and confident curiosity, closing with a group critique of the work made across the week. Group is capped at around eight. Lunches, refreshments and a Day 1 welcome reception are provided; lodging is booked separately, with hotel and B&B options shared in the pre-workshop pack.

Leader Bio

Beverly Todd is an abstract expressionist painter, workshop leader and creativity coach who founded Santa Fe Artist Getaway in 2019 as a home for her own practice and a place for artists to stay, play and create. Her teaching, sold under the Deep Work banner, is built around visual vocabulary, playful unlearning and confident curiosity as three habits for a working abstract studio.
