From 9 to 15 October 2026, on the car-free Greek island of Hydra, bestselling author Joanne Fedler leads a six-night women's writing retreat built around the lyrics and poetry of Leonard Cohen, who found his writer's voice on the same island in the 1960s. The five days of sessions are built around Joanne's reading of Cohen's catalogue, moving between true voice, the cracks where the light gets in, hidden inheritances and the practice of truth-telling on the page. The retreat base is a thoughtfully restored boutique hotel ten minutes from the port, the former home of a Hydra sea captain. Anna Kwiecinska, who lived on Hydra for two years, curates the cultural programme: guided walks, water taxi excursions, the National Museum, the home and studio of Hydra painter Panayotis Tetsis, and a boat trip to the mainland with swimming and lunch. For women, though partners are welcome to come along. Pricing shown is an approximate USD equivalent converted from EUR. Please confirm the final price, currency, and options for single or double occupancy with the host directly before booking.
