From 1 to 7 February 2027, in the wilds of Costa Rica, flash fiction author Nancy Stohlman and lyric prose writer Selah Saterstrom lead Open Your Art's annual writing retreat. Six nights at an open-air retreat centre away from the tourist circuit: screened cabinas opening onto the jungle, a pool on site, and walks down to the beach. The workshop frame leans generative in the morning, revision-led in the afternoon, with a salon evening to close the week where guests dress up and read their work aloud. Drop-in yoga sits alongside writing time before breakfast; three meals a day are taken at the centre. The format is one Open Your Art has refined across previous cohorts in Costa Rica, Colorado, France and Italy, suitable for veteran writers and those returning to the page after time away.

Leader Bio

Nancy Stohlman is the author of multiple flash fiction collections including 'The Vixen Scream' and 'Going Short: An Invitation to Flash Fiction', and a fixture on the international flash fiction circuit. Selah Saterstrom is a writer of hybrid lyric prose whose books include 'Slab' and 'The Pink Institution'; she also teaches divination-led writing practice.
