From 17 October to 1 November 2027, Judy Gula leads a textile and craft journey across Uzbekistan with operator Aahilya Holidays. The route covers the country's four great Silk Road cities: Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva. Workshop time is built around Uzbekistan's living textile traditions, with the silk weavers of the Fergana Valley, suzani embroidery, ikat dyeing, block printing and the patterned silk chapans that still mark formal Uzbek dress all in scope. Judy is a fibre and mixed-media artist from Virginia, and her practice in vintage textiles and batik shapes the way she introduces the makers. Twin-share accommodation throughout; single rooms at supplement; international flights are not included.

Judy Gula is the owner of Artistic Artifacts in Alexandria, Virginia, a fibre and mixed-media specialist whose passion is vintage textiles and the artisans who make them. She has led creative retreats through Aahilya Holidays across Italy, India and Indonesia, gathering small groups to study the source materials of textile traditions firsthand.
